Fitbit Alta:Stylish Fitness Tracker6.5/10 (Expert Score)
Motivation is your best accessory with Fitbit Alta – a customisable fitness tracker designed to fit your personal style. Stay motivated by tracking all-day activity – steps, distance, calories burned and active minutes – and get credit for workouts with SmartTrack automatic exercise recognition….
The Fitbit Alta is a fitness tracker by Fitbit, which is currently available for just over $102. In our opinion, it is currently the most stylish fitness bracelet on the market. After the Fitbit with the Blaze already in the beginning of 2016 a very chic fitness clock has presented, they lay now again after.
Stylish and good wearing comfort
The Fitbit is one of the fitness bracelets that can be worn by both men and women. It is very narrow with 15 mm and at the same time looks discreet and stylish.
The bracelet can without any problems changed are: There are in addition to the elastomer standard bracelets (in black, dark blue, “plum” and turquoise), a steel bracelet and leather to be purchased separately. Somewhat criticism is the closure of the tracker : no secure pin buckle, but a buckle, where the excess bracelet (if it is longer) can hang out. The comfort is still very good.
For the operation, there is no button, but it works by tapping the side of the screen. This contributes to the minimalist design of the Alta. Very good is the vibration alarm, with which you can also wake up “silent”.
► Battery life about five days, nice display
The battery lasts for five days (and is then charged via a charging clamp) – that’s ok, but much lower than the MI 2 , which plays in about the same fitness bracelet league. One reason for the shorter battery life is the beautiful OLED display , which is already larger in the Alta than in the HR batch. Incidentally, this display is not always readable, but only in the active state. This is a difference to the partially used in other fitness watches transflective displays. Nice are the different display designs for the display of time and date.
Excellent for tracking activities
Technically, the Fitbit Alta is nothing new but brings as a fitness tracker with the features you want: pedometer, sleep tracker, calorie counter, measurement of active minutes and distance measurement. As an activity tracker, Alta can thus convince. In addition to the functions mentioned is also the activity memory, which is implemented great.
In addition to the Activity Tracker features, smartwatch features are useful as well: display text messages, incoming calls, and calendar reminders.
Workout support rather simple
As a sports tracker (especially running), the Alta can also be used and detects activities with the SmartTrack functionality also automatically. Sports support is not the strength of the Alta, and it’s not intended for that. So it is not possible to connect a chest strap, and you can not start an activity recording manually on the clock (only in the Fitbit app).
Conclusion to the Fitbit Alta: Stylish fitness tracker with a very clear target group
Overall: The Fitbit Alta is not a fitness tracker that can do a bit of this and a little bit of that, and in the end all a bit, but not really satisfying. No: The Alta is clearly aimed at the target group, who want to have a stylish fitness tracker, which is used as an elegant and discreet accessory, and at the same time attach great importance to very good fitness tracker functions and the most important smartwatch functions.
